Customer Service Rule No 1

It always amazes me how so many companies get some really simple things so wrong when it comes to customer service. We recently had a new kitchen fitted at home and there were one or two issues with the quartz worktops. Nothing major but, when you’re spending a lot of money on something, you do want it to be right. The initial dealings with the worktop suppliers’ went well. Photos were emailed to show the issues and they readily agreed that the problems were unacceptable. Result! Consequently, an appointment was made for someone to come along and inspect the worktops, so that they could ...

What Goes Around, Comes Around

Good morning said a woman as she walked up to the man sitting on the ground. The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new.. She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before.. “Leave me alone,” he growled…. To his amazement, the woman continued standing. She was smiling — her even white teeth displayed in dazzling rows. “Are you hungry?” she asked. “No,” he answered sarcastically. “I’ve just come from dining with ...

12 Days of Christmas – With a Twist

I’ve always loved the a capella style of music – you know, where there aren’t any musical instruments and the harmonies are created by voice. I recently came across the following video and just loved it. It’s a great mix of a capella with some great humour and a fantastic twist towards the end (just over half way through, where we get a mix of the 12 Days of Christmas with Toto – if you remember them. Enjoy ….. Let me know what you think in the comments, below, and do share it if you enjoy it. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. Steve Bimpson

I’m Free – On a Technicality

If you’ve been following my Jail & Bail posts, this one should put your mind at ease – just in case you were worried about me. It was, of course, all for charity and quite a lot of cash has been raised for The Rainbow Centre but the Virgin Giving page is still open if you haven’t made any donation, yet, and feel inclined to do so. We have done really well and the target of £5000 has been exceeded – but don’t let that put you off. Just to show that it was all in done in good spirits, here are a ...

Bang To Rights Mr Bimpson

Further to my last post, I have now been arrested!  Bang to Rights, as they say – but all in the name of a good cause, of course. The Rainbow Centre is a really terrific charity and they do some amazing work, being a centre of excellence for Conductive Education.   They inspire and support children with Cerebral Palsy and adults that have suffered with a stroke, MS and Parkinson’s disease and their families. Help me raise some bail money on their (and my) behalf – click here. Given that the plan was to arrest me at my office and that there are ...

I Arrest You in the Name of………

Apparently, I’m going to get arrested tomorrow – all in the name of charity, of course, but none the less, I will be hunted down, hand-cuffed, incarcerated, finger-printed and have my mugshots take – amongst other things. Now, the interesting thing is, this could happen anywhere.  Gnerally, the idea is that you get arrested at your place of work but, as I share an office with only two people, it seemed sensible that I should get arrested elsewhere – somewhere where there could be lots of other people around.  The question is, where will it be? I’ve let The Rainbow Centre know ...
