Holding on to Negative Emotions is Like ….

Holding on to negative emotions is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone; you’re the one who gets burned!
This is my own version of a quotation by the Buddha that goes; “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone; you’re the one who gets burned!”  –  I haven’t changed very much, just exchanging the word ‘anger’ for the phrase ‘negative emotions’, but I do believe that this message applies to any and all negative emotions and that this is a valuable distinction to make.

Six Degrees of Separation

I first heard about the concept of Six Degrees of Separation more than 10 years ago at a seminar I attended.  The idea is a simple one: that we’re all linked to anyone we may care to meet, anywhere in the world, through no more than 6 levels of contacts. Actually, these are not just the Universal Laws of Success in Networking, they’re the Universal Laws of Success in life!
The reality is, if you contravene any of these laws, you won’t get closer to what you want, you’ll end up much further away.  This is because, by contravening these laws you’re pushing what you want away from you.
